problem with sound on laptop

So basically turned on my laptop today and the sound wasn't working, tried to enable and disable speakers,did a restart,updated windows, plugged in my headset, nothing helped. Don't know why but it shows that sound is working but I can't hear anything. Any help is appreciated

Does your headset work or not?
My laptop's speakers died a while ago, could just be old

Sound started working again literally on it's own, probably should reinstall windows and everything in the future
